Over 35 non-governmental organizations, public institutions and media were involved in promotion of digital literacy and eSkills during the Get Online Week 2011 in Serbia.
These organizations encouraged local communities to gain ICT skills, start using Internet and some organizations also organized free of charge ECDL testing. As the result of these efforts 1.113 citizens from Serbia were involved in this action and directly participated in the European Get Online week campaign, clicking on the counter posted on web sites of different institutions and organizations in Serbia.
This number of participants put Serbia on the 8th place among 30 European countries which participated in this campaign. 41% of the involved participants in Serbia were first time users of Internet! IAN also offered to all participants free of charge ECDL testing during the Get Online Week and 14 participants used this opportunity and passed 31 free ECDL exams.
